Privacy Policy

First State Bank of Porter, its Board of Directors, Management Team, Officers and Staff are devoted to preserve our customer's trust by following the privacy principles outlined below for the responsible use and protection of our customer's information.

 1. We Do Not Sell Customer Information.

 2. Recognition of our Customer's Expectation of Privacy: We recognize and acknowledge the privacy expectations of our customers and of their financial and personal information. We maintain strict standards and procedures designed to prevent the misuse of any information our customers share with us. 

3. Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information: It is the policy and practice of the Bank to collect, retain and use information about customers only where the bank reasonably believes the gathering of such information would be useful and allowed by law to administer the Bank's business and/or to provide products, services or opportunities to our customers. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from various sources including: applications and other forms; transactions with us; transactions with nonaffiliated third parties; and from consumer reporting agencies. The type of nonpublic personal information we collect may include but is not limited to: social security number, date of birth, address, home and work telephone numbers, drivers license number, and employer name. 

4. Maintaining Accurate Information: The Bank has procedures to help ensure that customer financial information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable business standards. We respond to legitimate requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. 

5. Limitations on Employee Access to Information: We limit access to personal information of our customers to only those employees with a business purpose for knowing such information. All employees are educated on the importance of customer confidentiality and privacy. The Bank believes in taking appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary to enforce employee privacy responsibilities. 

6. Protection of Information through Established Security Procedures: The Bank maintains appropriate security standards and procedures as described in our written Information Technology Security Policy to help prevent unauthorized access to confidential customer information. We perform an annual risk assessment to ensure security procedures are current and effective. We require outside service providers and suppliers to operate under privacy principals which correlate to ours. 

7. Restrictions on the Disclosure of Customer Information: The Bank does not reveal nonpublic personal information about customers, customer accounts, or former customers to any non-affiliated third parties, except as permitted by law such as for the exchange of information with reputable reporting agencies to maximize the accuracy and security of such information, or in the performance of bona fide corporate due diligence, unless; *the information is provided to help a customer initiated transaction; *the customer requests it; *the disclosure is required by or allowed by law (i.e. subpoena, etc) 

8. Disclosure of Privacy Principles: We make our Privacy Policy regularly available. Disclosure of our Privacy Policy shall be provided to consumers initially at account opening and annually thereafter to consumers with a continuing relationship. Any customer who may have concerns about their private information may contact any Porter Bank employee. **Nonpublic information is defined as information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources such as telephone directories or government records.
