Porter Bank is comprised of three offices in Porter, Chesterton and The Pines employing about 35 people. We are dedicated to our community and have been serving it for 101 years! We offer a wide variety of careers from entry level on the Teller Line, Customer Service, and New Accounts to more advanced in our Loan, Compliance, and Operations Departments. Career Opportunities:

Teller Position

To provide exceptional customer service and accuracy with customer transactions and cash handling. To offer information and refer bank products and services. To participate as part of a team and represent the bank in a friendly, professional manner.


  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Willingness to participate as a team member to assist co-workers when needed
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and co-workers
  • Operate 10 key adding machine
  • Ability to accurately disburse currency and coin
  • Must clear credit & criminal background check



Credit Analyst Position

An integral position in the lending process working with Loan Officers, this individual is responsible for analyzing credit and financial reports and other date to determine risk involved in extending credit, renewing loans, and conducting annual reviews. Prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for loan officers and the board on loan requests. Oversees and manages the financial information files of commercial clients including requesting, monitoring, and reporting.

Prepares monthly reports for monitoring risks, evaluation of processes and reporting to appropriate committees and the board.

Conducts Property Inspections: Periodic review of construction and problem loans. Document loan files with inspection reports/photos. Prepare and present Property Inspection Report to Loan Committee.

Lending compliance responsibilities including file documentation, accuracy and completeness and Imaged Document Indexing.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Credit Analysis Software experience an advantage (Abrigo/Sageworks)
  • Strong Organizational Skills & Attention to Detail
  • Understanding of Financial Statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, etc.) and Tax Return documents – personal and corporate
  • Understanding of Loan Documentation
  • Must clear credit & criminal background check
